A quintessentially New Zealand picture book, this lively and lavishly illustrated story is a humorous tale about a young boy searching for the right methods and techniques to do the perfect bomb into the water. He turns to is much loved Nan, an expert and former champion for advice and, with love and gentle encouragement, learns that it's all about being yourself and finding your own style. It's funny, inspirational, enjoyable and packed full of characters and scenes instantly recognisable to young New Zealanders.Dionne Christian and Zoe Gadd, Weekend Herald
Reading The Bomb is an uplifting and invigorating experience that feels like a breath of fresh summer air. The story follows a boy who longs to pull off the perfect bomb: A booming one, a slapping one, a splashing one, dripping, soaking one!" When he repeatedly falters and fumbles at the last second, his cool old Nan (an erstwhile bomb pro) helps him find the confidence to realise his dream. Fresh, fun, vibrant and distinctly kiwi, this is another fabulous offering from the creative pairing of Sacha Cotter and Josh Morgan. Emma Wood, Otago Daily Times

Pops of amazing colour, a gorgeous feel throughout ... gorgeously touching, it really is something special ... It's a very modern take on Kiwi summer just for children.Nikki Ward, Ekor Books.
Another great book by Sacha Cotter and Josh Morgan but I love this one best of all. It has a real kiwi tone to the language and I love that the te reo edition seems to have been written alongside the English edition. The illustrations are delicious and I really want to climb Josh's imaginary diving platforms ... and hopefully this book inspire some fabulous swimming costumes this summer.
Perfect for 4-8 year olds - a great one for nanas to share with their moko. Lucy, The Children's Bookshop Kilbirnie
