Te Whatukura o Tangaroa

Kaupapa

Ahakoa e patua ana e koe ngā ika hei kai mā tō tamaiti, kia maumahara tonu koe, he tamariki ērā nā Tangaroa. Nō reira haria hei ika hei whāngai i a ia, kaua e kaiapo, kaua e kaipuku.”

Description

Rua-te-pupuke turns to his son Manuruhi and explains certain things about the enchanted stone of Tangaroa. “Manu, my warning to you is this, do not abuse and do not forsake the enchanted stone. Although you are catching fish to feed your son, you must remember that they are also the children of Tangaroa. Therefore only take what you need, no more. Do not be greedy.”
