Welcome to the world of Matawehi. Matawehi the ancestor, Matawehi the Mountain. The story tells the magical tale of two iwi: one thriving, the other starving and desolate, forced to enter in to a bargain to secure survival and a future for their people. In the midst of the conflict, two lovers, Kāhu and Kuratawhiti, make their own plans to bring their warring iwi together through their marriage. But tragedy awaits as Kāhu is forced to defend his beloved Kuratawhiti against his treasured sister, Mira, who is ready to unleash a lifetime of rage and revenge on Kuratawhiti and her people.
