Tahaawai hapū, is the claim manager for the Takahue claim (Wai 548) lodged by her late grandfather, Hirini Mare (Syd Murray) and continued on by his son, William (Billy) Murray, who is Zarrah’s uncle. Zarrah is a delegate for Ōkakewai marae at Takahue, represents Ngāti Kahu as a member of Ngā Rangatahi-ā-Iwi and holds the health portfolio for Ngāti Kahu. She trained as a teacher and holds a Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Specialisation Huarahi Māori from the University of Auckland and is currently teaching at Pāmapūria school.
