Working with HUIA
Huia (NZ) Ltd has the vision to deliver New Zealand's leading educational resources and to ensure that Māori stories and perspectives have a place in New Zealand literature and throughout the world.
We are seeking people who are keen to make a difference and help us fulfil this vision.
HUIA has two divisions – the Commercial Books division, which publishes fiction and non-fiction retail books, and Huia Education, which produces a wide range of quality resources in Māori language for Māori medium schools, from early childhood to secondary level.
Exciting opportunities exist in operations, resource development, sales and marketing, and leadership for motivated, creative and customer-focused team players who can support a high performance culture in an area that is making a real difference for Māori.
A career with HUIA is more than just a job. It's an opportunity to make a difference in Māori education and in literature. For over 20 years, our independent publishing company has paved the way to ensure that Māori perspectives are given a voice throughout New Zealand and in world literature.
We are continuing to grow and are in a unique position to be able to offer a wide variety of opportunities in leadership, education and sales in Wellington, Aotearoa.
HUIA (NZ) Limited is a well-established publishing company with a reputation for delivering award winning resources. We are seeking a Project Manager to keep our work programmes on track so that our teams can focus on the creative aspects of our work.
In the role you will be responsible for managing a large number of projects, from initial planning through to closeout and evaluation. Most projects have a relatively short life span but are required to be run simultaneously which can be challenging. Our Project Management team have made a major contribution to the successful delivery of the company's programme of work to both clients and customers; we expect any new addition to the team will quickly add value.
If you have a professional qualification such as PMP or Prince 2 this will be beneficial. Given that we manage a lot of Māori language content, Māori language proficiency will be an advantage. We also welcome applicants who have previously worked in the fast paced publishing industry.
Applications close 5pm, Monday 10 February 2014
