Huia (NZ) Ltd has the vision to deliver New Zealand's leading educational resources and to ensure that Māori stories and perspectives have a place in New Zealand literature and throughout the world.

HUIA has two divisions – the Commercial Books division, which publishes fiction and non-fiction retail books, and Huia Services, which produce a wide range of quality educational resources including resources in Māori language for Māori medium schools, from early childhood to secondary level.
Exciting opportunities exist in operations, resource development, sales and marketing, and leadership for motivated, creative and customer-focused team players who can support a high performance culture in an area that is making a real difference for Māori.

A position is available for a confident and experienced administrator to support teams and our company. This role is varied, giving you exposure to all areas of the business.
We are seeking someone with a high level of customer service experience to support both our internal needs and those of our external clients.
The ideal person will have:
- advanced computer skills;
- good attention to detail; and
- excellent verbal and written communication.
Your ability to work to tight deadlines will be the key to your success in this role.

Getting to Know You, Getting to Know Us
This programme is designed to give you the opportunity to get to know us and for us to get to know you before you embark on a career at HUIA.
You will get to meet the team, get to know the work programme and get a better idea about how you might fit with the team and our workplace culture, learn from our experiences through stories we can share and gain some insight into what makes us unique, what drives us and what our values are.
HUIA Resource Developers work with teachers, subject specialists and language experts to develop quality resources. With over 600 schools in Aotearoa teaching all or some of the curriculum in Māori language, it is essential that the quality of the language and the information in the resources meets the needs of teachers and students.
We are particularly interested in increasing the number of people writing and illustrating educational resources in Māori language. These include materials in the areas of:
- Te reo Māori – reading and literacy
- Putaio – Science
- Hangarau – Technology
- Tikanga-a-iwi – Social Studies.
